Biography

Deep in outer space live a tribe from a lost civilisation.  Driven into near extinction and deprived of their only power source "j funk" they tour the universe in search of love giving vibrations and were directed to this planet, that we call earth, by spill from an astronaut's walkman whilst out fixing the shuttle and listening to the god we call Stevie Wonder and his disciple J Kaye...Well actually the Brainchild of Paul Holgate in the Summer of 2002.

With the new line-up of Sugar town settled in and looking for mid-week club and University  work Paul decided to establish a new name on the tribute circuit having the voice and the physique/look of  Mr Jay Kaye, Jamiroquai was the obvious choice.

Aiming at the Chicago Rock circuit in particular as a vehicle to nationwide exposure it was decided to cover both Stevie Wonder  and Jamiroquai, as Jay Kay has been known tosing a few Wonder cover tunes live himself. Covering both artists allows greater popularity and the need to perform only the greatest popular hits the average audience would know and love.

The Debut performance was at the Starlight Nites Showcase which was attended by Chicago Rock bookers as well as The Roadhouse Covent Garden (premier live music venue) and ‘ The Stage’ Critic/Reviewer.
